Often the cause may not be known but can include irregularities in feeding, sudden change of diet, indigestion, gas build up, gorging on grain, eating of a substance which expands when dampened, intestinal accident, blockage, contractions, and inflamation. The risk of colic occurring is increased with high carbohydrate diets and inadequate access to hay or grass. A regular feeding schedule, constant access to clean water, adequate forage, consistent exercise routine and the avoidance of sudden changes in diet will all reduce the risk of colic occurring. Symptoms of colic include restlessness, kicking at the belly, pawing the ground or rolling in an effort to disperse the pain, lying down more than usual, frequently standing outstretched as if to urinate, turning the head towards the flank and curling of the upper lip. Food should be removed and nibbling at bedding should be prevented until the veterinarian arrives.

Horse Health- equine complaints in the tropics. Equine Health. Given the scarcity( and cost) of land, it is of little surprise that there is no horse breeding industry in Singapore( although animals from The National Stud in Malaysia are referred to as" local-breds"). This dearth of natural resources also means that all feed& other necessities must be imported, the horses spend a considerable amount of time in relatively small stables and there are no easily accessible spelling stations. These factors, coupled with the high cost of ownership and maintenance, not infrequently results in animals with injuries or health problems not receiving adequate time to recover, or alternatively, if extended rest is mandatory, being euthanased. Having most horses in a relatively controlled situation does, however, have certain benefits- routine anthelmintic, vaccination, dental and farriery programs can be instituted and monitored with relative ease( assuming club/ owner compliance). Economies of scale allow feed, other necessities and even horses to be obtained in" bulk", helping to minimise costs, and as most stables have resident staff( syces), the supervision of individual animals is made considerably easier. Thus reproductive disorders are of minor significance here, and if traumatic injuries are excluded, the most common reasons for seeking veterinary advice are digestive tract dysfunction( dermatological complaints, lameness, ocular disease, respiratory disease," dry-coatedness" and heat-stress. home| importing pets| pet health| clinic tour| equestrian| vax sarcoma| about singapore| contact.

Document Excerpt:
Equine Colic: its Causes, Variations, Remedies, and Preventive Measures. ** A note- please remember that I am not a veterinarian( although I wish I was.), and I may be wrong or not completely correct in some spots. [ Types of Colic][ Indications that a horse has colic][ Colic and the myenteric plexuses][ Remedies for Colic][ Causes and Preventative Measures for Colic][ Summation]. Equine colic is a sometimes serious condition, and can be defined as" any crisis which causes abdominal discomfort in a horse" A more scientific definition, however, is" a spasm of any soft or hard hollow organ, such as the abdomen, that is accompanied by pain". The general term‘ colic is also given to any dysfunction of the digestive system of the horse, including twisting, swelling, infection, or lesions. In such cases, the horse's chronic colic may never be fully alleviated, or understood as to its cause, but there are a number of preventative measures one can take( to be discussed at a later time). The American Association of Equine Practitioners( AAEP) has classified colic into three specific groups- intestinal dysfunctions, intestinal accidents, and enteritis or ulcerations. Intestinal dysfunctions are the most common and mean simply that the horse's bowels are not functioning properly. Intestinal accidents occur less frequently and include displacements, torsions and hernias- which occurs when sections of the intestine become trapped or pinched in body cavities. Enteritis or ulcerations are types of colic related to inflammation, infections, and lesions within the digestive tract. Excessive sweating, pawing, rolling, looking at their belly, lying down at unusual times, and tail wringing usually associated with the stamping of the hind feet( particularly if there are no flies) are all signposts that your horse has some form of abdominal pain. Other symptoms also include repeated yawning or grinding of their teeth, refusal to eat( still apparent from the first sign), a depressed attitude, a change in the appearance or consistency of manure( watery, too solid, etc. Normally, you should hear 2 or 3 gurgles( which signify that food is moving through the digestive system properly) every minute, and a loud growl every 1 to 3 minutes. The horse may also engage in lying down and getting up frequently, nipping at their flanks, stretching more often then usual, pacing, and difficulty with breathing. There are other less common causes as well, including kidney disease, liver disease, tying up( a muscle condition characterized by cramping and acute pain), or ovarian pain, in which a mare may exhibit colic symptoms 3 to 5 days into her heat cycle. Delving into the more scientific side of colic, there was a study done to determine if" deficiencies in the myenteric plexuses of horses might be associated with the incidence of colic." The myenteric plexuses can be defined as" one of the two plexuses[ network of nerves or of blood or lymphatic vessels] in the wall of the alimentary canal." The researchers measured the myenteric plexus density, longitudinal muscle thickness, and neuron[ a nerve cell, the structural and functional unit of the nervous system] density, for both normal horses and those with" acute obstruction and chronic obstruction". The researchers found that although in acute obstruction( cases which have occurred for less then 24 hours) those factors were the same as in normal horses, chronic cases( greater than 24 hours) had a lower neuron density in the pelvic flexure. Horses with strangulating large colon torsion/ volvulus had significantly less myenteric plexus density in certain areas of the colon except the left ventral. Horses that survived despite the strangulation had greater neuron density than those that died. The longitudinal muscle thickness was greater in the pelvic flexure of horses with acute and chronic obstructions than normal horses. Also, they should be prepared to give the horse's temperature, color of mucous membranes and capillary refill time, behavioral signs( kicking, pawing, etc.), digestive noises, bowel movements, any recent changes in the horse's life, and his breeding history. The vet will attempt to pass a nasogastric tube through the nose, esophagus, and then to the stomach so as to relieve pressure on the stomach and small intestine. Since some causes of colic include such things as an environmental or feeding change, they should be minimized much as possible. Another preventative measure is to include regular parasite control, or deworming into horse's lives. If good management policies are followed as they should be in the first place, horses should not develop problems with colic. However, if they do come down with it, today's modern technology( including a hand held computer utilized by veterinarians for which can quickly tell him or her plans of action for that particular case) is on the side of the horse. | The Instruments I play| Who the heck is this person anyway?| My Horseless Horselover's Penpal Club| My tribute to my late parakeet and cat- Jerry and Ariel| My adopted cyber kitty| My Chatroom| My Pets| A Few Good Reasons to Spay or Neuter Your Pet| My Rat and rats in general| My Horse Page| Horse Trivia| Equine Colic.

Other topics: January 1999- Popped Splints February 1999- Prepping Stallions March 1999- Managing" Problem" Mares. provided by the American Association of Equine Practitioners and James Moore, DVM, PhD). In many instances, the diagnosis is made by exclusion of other specific conditions rather than actually identifiying the location of the gas. Gas colic is an extremely common reason for horses to exhibit signs of abdominal pain and, fortunately, one that has a very good prognosis for survival. Although it is often extremely difficult to identify the inciting cause for the development of gas colic, inadequate access to roughage, poor parasite control, stress, and administration of certain anthelmintics have been implicated in certain cases. The latter could be due to alterations in normal intestinal peristalsis caused by inflammation of the intestinal wall or spasm of the intestinal muscles. In either case, as the intestine distends, pain-sensitive receptors in the intestinal wall are stimulated and signals are sent to the horse's brain which cause the horse to experience abdominal pain. Horses respond to these signals by showing the signs that we associate with the presence of colic, most notably pawing, looking at the flank, stretching out, lying down, and, in some cases, rolling. Complications from gas distention arise if the distended bowel becomes displaced or twists upon itself. The likelihood that rolling causes intestinal displacements, however, is probably rather small. Instead, the fact that the gas distended portion of the intestine would naturally rise to the top of the abdominal cavity, suggest that twisting of the intestine occurs by itself. In other words, horses probably roll in response to the intestinal twist rather than cause the intestinal twist by rolling. If, however, the horse tries to roll violently and in the process increases the risk of hurting himself or his handlers, he should be forced to stand and walk. Horses with gas colic should be seen by a veterinarian and treated to avoid further complications. The overall aim is to keep the horse comfortable, move the gas through the intestinal tract, and help get peristalsis working again. Because of the strong circumstantial evidence linking gas colic with alterations in feed, the horse's diet should include constant access to good quality hay and clean water. James Moore, DVM, PhD, is head of the Department of Large Animal Medicine at the University of Georgia. Permission has been granted by AAEP for this one-time reprint. Other topics: January 1999- Popped Splints February 1999- Prepping Stallions March 1999- Managing" Problem" Mares. provided by the American Association of Equine Practitioners). Thousands of dollars have been invested in colic studies, yet it is still an offender of even the healthiest horses. The American Association of Equine Practitioners classifies colic in horses into three groups; intestinal dysfunctions, intestinal accidents and enteritis or ulcerations. There are a myriad of causes, but most colics fall under these three groups; Intestinal Dysfunction- This is the most common category and simply means the horse's bowels are not working properly. Intestinal Accidents- These occur less frequently and include displacements, torsions and hernias, whereby sections of the intestine become trapped or pinched in body cavities. Enteritis or Ulcerations- These are colics related to inflammations, infections and lesions within the digestive tract. They can be caused by numerous factors including stress, disease, salmonellosis and parasites. Colic appears to be preceded by many complicated factors, and moreover is a major cause of disease and death. There are many signs of colic including repeatedly lying down and getting up or attempting to do so, rolling, sitting in a dog-like position or lying on the back. This unique study went beyond the laboratory and into private practices throughout Texas to determine whether or not management factors influence the onset of colic. " Studies at veterinary hospitals represent only a small selected subset of the general equine population," Dr." Researchers wanted to identify factors related to medical history, husbandry, and health management that might induce the chance of colic in a horse. They evaluated a variety of situations including logistics of farm environment, stabling conditions, feed management, health and dental care, and recent transport or change in diet and activity. Eighty-two veterinarians provided data from 821 horses with colic for specific management factors for a 15 month period. They were then asked to record the same data for a non-colic case( such as a laceration or lameness treatment) that immediately followed the call to the colic case. The latter data was used as a" control" to the colic results to obviate any seasonal bias in choosing the comparison population. Horses that had a change in stabling conditions two weeks prior to the time of examination have a higher probability of colicking also. We are seeking funding for these studies that will provide specific, practical suggestions for horse owners. Though not found to be associated with colic, sound management factors such as deworming, dentistry and vaccination should always be integrated by every horse owner. " We believe that preventive medicine is essential for decreasing the burden of disease in horses," Dr. " Good, consistent management has important health and economic consequences. For more information on colic, please contact the Amercian Association of Equine Practitioners for a brochure on understanding colic, the digestive tract and its function, at; AAEP 4075 Iron Works Pike Lexington, KY 40511( 606) 233-0147. Manufacturers of equine nutrition products, equine health care products, horse feed ingredients and supplements, micro flora preparations, probiotics, nutraceuticals, herbal holistic plant preparations, beneficial bacterial cultures, horse thrush treatment, probiotics, biological bacterial and enzyme products, chelated herbs plants vitamins and minerals, horses performance and endurance, foot and hoof care, organic dewormers, stamina nervous tendencies, intestinal stabilizers, colic preparations, chondroitin sulfate and glucosamine, MSM, iodine for thrush etc. With Equine DW-123 dewormer may be added to the horses daily feed ration and is safe to use on a regular basis as an effective preventative. Ingredients: Diatomaceous earth( DE), pure garlic extracts combined with palatable lactobacillus acidophilus fermentation solubles rich in metabolites. Ingredients Information: Diatomaceous earth and garlic have been traditional cures for worms and other internal parasites. Garlic is also ideal for respiratory disorders due to it's expectorant qualities and is one of the known herbs to prevent and fight infections. Lactobacillus acidophilus fermentation solubles are the condensed substrate of the fermentation of whey inoculated with lactic acid bacteria and fortified with specific microbial nutrients. They are rich in the metabolites produced by probiotics and therefore act as stimulants for growth and reproduction of beneficial intestinal micro-organisms. These solubles are also documented growth inhibitors for pathogens( e.g. A horse's beneficial intestinal bacteria can be destroyed or depleted and the pH of their environment can be altered during times of stress. Competition, travel and breeding or treatment with antibiotics, dewormers and other medications can cause this stress. Without the beneficial intestinal bacteria, food ferments instead of being digested. Undigested foods may then lead to situations of colic, bloat, founder and increase the possibility of developing allergic conditions. BIO-AID SY: Increases the utilization of all the ingredients in the complete equine feed ration and improves the overall performance of horses, and also helps reduce nervous tendencies. Bio-Aid SY also contains pure extracts of the yucca plant which are known to be beneficial in cases of arthritis, bursitis, rheumatism and persistent inflammation. Organic Selenium Yeast* Vitamin E* Fermentation Solubles. Vitamin E and Selenium have been shown to be an important combination in reducing problems associated with tying up, poor performance and nervousness. The most common cause is geographical areas consisting of soils, which are deficient in Selenium. Horses that are exposed to heavy conditioning, fast growth and pollution can benefit from the supplementation of Vitamin E and Selenium. Results of recent experiments illustrate the value of providing dietary Se in an organic form. The natural yeast fermentation process is supplemented with the necessary levels of selenium. The yeast cream is than pasteurized to prevent contamination and spray dried and combined with our lactobacillus acidophilus fermentation solubles for the highest quality product of its kind. This process allows the selenium to interact with the yeast cell components and the processing conditions cause a natural chelating effect which preserve the level of highly available essential nutrients. Numerous University research studies have clearly and effectively demonstrated increased retention of Se, when fed in the form of Se yeast. The natural yeast fermentation process is supplemented with the necessary levels of Chromium. The yeast cream is than pasteurized to prevent contamination and spray dried and than combined with our lactobacillus acidophilus fermentation solubles for the highest quality product of its kind. This process allows the chromium to interact with the yeast cell components and the processing conditions cause a natural chelating effect which preserves the level of highly available nutrients. ( 1995) of a positive response to organic Cr supplementation in exercising Thoroughbred horses is exciting. Using a switchback design in which the horses received 5 mg/ day of Cr from Cr yeast, benefits were observed in metabolic response during periods of strenuous exercise on a high-speed treadmill. During the exercise period, Cr supplementation reduced plasma glucose, plasma lactate, plasma cortisol and elevated plasma triglycerides. Numerous University research studies have clearly and effectively demonstrated the benefits in supplementing chromium in animal diets. Some of the benefits are listed below in order to objectively evaluate the need for adding chromium to existing high quality diets. Polynicotinate chromium is also more bioavailable than chromium picolinate. Animal research study at the University of California found that polynicotinate chromium was absorbed and retained up to 311% better than chromium picolinate and 672% better than chromium chloride. The high bioavailability means that polynicotinate chromium has the ability to deliver more of the healthy benefits chromium has to offer. Schwarz and Mertz in 1959 were the first to identify chromium as the active constituent of the glucose tolerance factor( GTF). Although the exact structure of GTF is unknown, it is thought to be a nicotinic acid-trivalent chromium-nicotinic acid axis with ligands of glutamic acid, glycine and cysteine( Mertz et al. Chromium may have several biological functions, including activating certain enzymes and maintaining structural integrity of nucleic acids, but its main role is as the key component of the GTF which enhances the action of insulin summary, there is a growing body of evidence which suggest that chromium may be an essential trace element for livestock and poultry. The nutritional requirement for chromium may vary with different specie and physiological state within a specie. Packaging: 1 pound resealable/ reusable containers. Minimum assorted product combination orders of$ 50.00 apply. EquiHoof Formula# 3. Objective: To maintain optimal balance of foot and hoof structural integrity. EquiHoof is fortified with essential trace minerals and AMINO ACID CHELATES, CHOLINE CITRATES, METHIONINE CHELATES, OXIDES and SULFATES to assure proper assimilation and utilization of these trace minerals to grow a good quality hoof. A significant trace mineral profile difference in the composition of a GOOD QUALITY HOOF verses POOR QUALITY HOOF was discovered through extensive testing. EquiHoof is formulated with biotin and methionine in proper proportions for rapid hoof growth resulting in a strong, flexible, fast growing hoof that will hold more than a nail! Daily, EquiHoof will supplement approximately 30 mg of Biotin and 2000 mg of methionine to your horse. EquiHoof is fortified with enzymes, yeasts and micro organisms to assure proper digestion, utilization and absorption of the feed stuffs you already feed your horse plus the nutrients found in EquiHoof. Objective: To Maintain Optimal Balance of Osteo Articular and Nervous System. All of us are aware of equines predispositions, as athletes, to tendon, muscle and osteoarticular injuries. In most cases, even though training methods thrive at achieving optimal body and mental fitness, equines remain vulnerable to damages of the osteoarticular system including the soft connective tissues( tendons and ligaments) surrounding the joints of these complex structures. Predisposing factors are not only related to strenuous training methods: multiple race track conditions, adverse conditions under which we demand horses to perform and, also, transportation under stressful circumstances are not negligible to osteoarticular injuries. Manifestations of inflammation on a physical level are: heat, swelling, tenderness and eventually pain leading to stiffness and possibly reduced locomotion!. Manifestations on a psychological level is a tendency to express anxiety which will usually lead to unpredictable behavior and/ or abnormal temperament. It is important to realize how often nervousness in equines underlies physical discomfort such as inflammation with pain!. In the specialized field of Nutraceuticals, it is now recognized possible to supplement adequately the osteoarticular function thus maintaining optimal mobility! Proper supplementation of the normal ration( diet) can affect not only the symptoms but the causes of inflammation! Much has been discovered about inflammation being associated with such factors as nutrient deficiency, uric acid build-up, histamine release, inflammatory prostaglandins," free-radical" damage at a cellular level, immune system dysfunction, and so on. Ultra Bio-Logics has created a dietary supplement designed to maintain optimal function of osteoarticular system that also releives nervous tension associated with inflammation and/ or pain. Feverfew contains sesquiterpenes which have the ability to inhibit prostaglandins and histamine release during inflammation process. Valerian, skullcap, passion flower all have anxiolytic properties and act as anti-spasmodics without sedating. Devils claw contains harpagosides that reduce inflammation in the joints, while Tumeric, contains curcumin and acts as an analgesic thus reducing pain! Horsetail provides organic calcium, silica and phosphorous. C Methionine and MSM are organic sources of sulfur, a vital nutrient required for the formation of collagen, the connective tissue in the body. Proline is an amino-acid that stimulates the production of collagen and is needed to strengthen ligaments, tendons and cartilage. D Anti-Oxidants are a class of nutrients that protect the body from cell-damaging molecules known as free-radicals. Included in the formula are Selenium, Zinc, Vitamin C and Vitamin E. These nutrients are also associated with tissue healing and tonification of the immune system. E Bioflavonoids are synergists with Vitamin C and are important to preserve and protect structure of capillaries. In fact, for horses that are reputed" bleeders" we custom blend a formula that addresses itself to this specific unfortunate problem of" bleeding from the lungs" or epistaxis!. F Enzymes: Proteolytic enzymes inhibit the formation of inflammatory prostaglandins, increase the breakdown of fibrin which obstructs blood and lymphatic system, and stimulate protein synthesis, inviting new collagen to be formed, thus speeding up healing. G Vitamins: Niacin, Panthotenic acid and Pyridoxine are important to help form steroids and cortisone in the adrenal glands, improving circulation, nerve function and normalizing fluid retention. H Other important ingredients are a blend of rare earth minerals and marine kelp( ascophyllum nodosum). Also included are fermentation solubles rich in enzymes and micro nutrients. Supplement the existing diet with 60 to 80 grams daily of Equine Formula# 1. If symptoms re-occur after reducing dosage, normal supplementation should be continued as was done previously. Obviously, causes of the inflammation and/ or nervousness should be investigated, as it is always the case in any holistic approach. Equine Formula# 1 Sold In: 2 kg( 4.4 lbs) plastic flip top reusable containers. Maintaining peak performance requires that the liver and kidneys of the horse athlete operate efficiently. Both these organs metabolize and excrete wastes material and the liver has an enormous task at manufacturing various metabolic enzymes essential to health. For the liver and kidney functions to operate at their best, it is imperative that the organs of digestion assimilate optimally what a horse consumes! The circulatory system and liver must do their job freely so they may provide the cells with these fuels and remove harmful wastes by-products produced during catabolism. The Equine Formula# 4 provides the peak performing horse with a most advanced spectrum of macro and micro nutrients, vitamins, herbs, enzymes and probiotics to achieve this very precise objective: optimum performance without affecting health and longevity!. It is important for healthy epithelial cells( integrity of epithelial cells), fat storage and bone formation. Vitamin D is required for calcium and phosphorous absorption for normal growth and development of bone and teeth. Vitamin E improves circulation, enhances the oxygen utilization of muscular tissues, thereby improving athletic performance. Vitamin C is necessary for normal adrenal gland function, tissue growth and repair, anti-stress, hormone synthesis, formation of collagen, and white cell activity( immunity). BIOFLAVONOIDS are synergists with vitamin C and are important to preserve and protect the structure of capillaries. Vitamin B-complex including B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B12, CHOLINE BIOTIN, Folic acid and Inositol are actually co-enzymes involved with energy production. Vitamin K, the blood clotting vitamin, is also involved in converting glucose to glycogen for storage in the liver. B MINERALS including Iron, Copper, Iodine, Selenium, Magnesium, Potassium and Zinc function as co-enzymes to form blood, bone, and body fluids. They are involved in nerve transmission and the production of enzymes and hormones. It is important that these minerals be provided in a biological form( chelated or bound to an organic molecule such as they are in food). This allows these minerals to be absorbed into the blood and lymph and ultimately the individual cells. Micro or trace minerals are fundamental for metabolic enzyme production. C HERBS: Red Clover, Chapparal, Yellow Dock, Dandelion and Garlic are generally classified as" alternatives" which have the particular nature of purifying and detoxifying the blood and liver( and kidneys). Licorice and Capsicum assist by providing rapid and even distribution of the other active principles contained within the other herbs to critical functional centers of the body. Marine Kelp is there again with its 22 amino-acids, 12 vitamins and 60+ minerals, a store-house of nutrients beneficial to nerves, thyroid and hooves. Probiotics include those fermentation related factors such as naturally occurring live organisms( Lactobacillus acidophilus, Aspergillus orizae, Bacillus subtilis, Saccharomyces cerevisiae). They are found to be beneficial to the digestive tract be cause they produce digestive enzymes to help break down proteins, starches, fiber, fats and sugars. Carriers consist of fermentation solubles and rare earth minerals derived from a deposit of an ancient inland sea bed. This formula has been designed to assist the normal ration of equine athletes during training when reaching anticipated peak performance. Because the levels of dietary proteins are usually very high at that period, we recommend supplementing Equine Formula# 4 1 ounce( 28gram), twice daily, morning and night, at meal time. If frequency of meals is increased to 4 or even 5 small servings daily, one will realize the tremendous advantage in programming the diet this way, improving bio-availability of feedstuff by stimulating digestive enzyme secretion! We recommend alternating Formula# 4 with Formula# 5 every month. Equine Formula# 4 is- Sold In: 2 kg( 4.4 lbs) plastic flip top reusable containers. Immunity- Allergy- Breathing and Bleeders. This Formula was developed to assist horses that have a tendency to manifest recurrent ill symptoms, and where primary causes seem to be hard to find on a point of view of orthodox medicine! Chronic intermittent respiratory problems( influenza, nose bleeding), and a variety of skin ailments, even intestinal problems, are often related to certain food intolerance. Equines are proned to food enzyme deficiencies and to the array of nebulous symptoms related to this situation: by supplementing them with digestive enzymes, the exocrine pancreas function is relieved and the metabolic enzyme bank account does not have to be diverted to compensate for the lack of food enzyme of the modern diet! Do not forget that even equines suffer of this aberrant situation because of modern techniques of feed extrusion. extrusion and cubing destroy all inherent food enzymes naturally present in raw food. In a very important book entitled" Enzyme Nutrition", Dr.Edward Howell explains How and Why, modern men and the animals he has domesticated have become so afflicted with chronic degenerative diseases. One of the big problems has to do with the notion of" exocrine pancreas overload" due to chronic food enzyme deficiency! So it would mean that cooking food has not been all that great of a discovery! Practically speaking yes, because it offers the possibility to eat larger quantities of food than in the raw form at the same time but fundamentally it seems cooking food destroys all food enzyme leadin.g to a cascade of events responsible for more problems than one would like to think of!. The idea behind Equine Formula# 5 was to design a dietary supplement Tonic for the immune system of equines that could be alternated with Formula# 4 on a monthly basis. The reason behind this regime is to" cleanse" or promote optimal liver and kidney functions with Formula# 4 so metabolic wastes and toxins are more easily excreted and then, to follow up the program with Formula# 5, concentrating more on the immune system. By following this two step program, we have designed a very interesting way at maintaining OPTIMAL RESISTANCE TO DISEASE!. The holistic approach here, is to tonify or stimulate non-specific immunity. Of primary importance is the good habit of offering equines the best possible hay as the main food, in the best possible environment. When the best possible diet is offered under the best possible environmental conditions, then one has to be preoccupied by a way of providing the best possible supplementation regime. 1 HERBS: Echinacea, cloves, cayenne, russian fennel, goldenseal, licorice, fenugreek, fennel, ginger, siberian ginseng. 7 Microflora preparations: friendly micro-organisms that maintain a healthy gut ecology. 8 Digestive enzymes mostly of the proteolytic group( protease) derived from Aspergillus niger, orizae and/ or Bacillus subtilis. Horses that have the reputation to be" allergic" with breathing or digestive problems, or manifestations of dermatitis( various types of skin ailments. Supplement for at least two to three months if problem is chronic as one has to think of changing" blood" quality. This will be done efficiently only when appropriate measures will be taken to improve dietary regime adequately!. Again, this formula was designed so supplementation should be done twice daily, one ounce at a time including some raw honey to the mixture so supplement will not settle down feeding bowl. but improvements usually start to show after three weeks), realize blood condition is starting to be less" toxic"! The Formula# 5 should be given for another month or two, and then alternated with Formula# 4. Equine Formula# 5 is- Sold In: 2 kg( 4.4 lbs) plastic flip top reusable containers. In processing and with extended storage, ENZYMES ARE DESTROYED. Your horse's body requires enzymes to process and deliver its food. Studies have shown that ANTI-OXIDANTS aid in stopping free radical damage from occurring in your horse's body. EquiZyme aids in eliminating this FREE RADICAL DAMAGE. Packaging: 1 pound resealable/ reusable containers. The residual medium( molasses) on which our selected strains are grown, are completely washed and removed during harvesting. Yeasts have been used for decades, as natural dietary supplements and are believed to contain growth and stimulatory factors in animal feeding applications. The benefits of yeast are not totally defined, however indications point to numerous advantages in the animal feed industry. Packaging: 1 pound resealable/ reusable containers. This new easy to use thrush treatment that does exactly what it is suppose to do, eliminate the bacterial fungus that cause thrush, quickly, economically, effectively and safely. Iorush Plus Is a unique concentrated liquid formula based on an organic iodine complex, food grade citric acid combined with, plant extracts of natural origin as wetting and dispersing agents. Iorush Plus contains no harsh caustic ingredients like many other commercial preparations, that may stunt new horn growth. Rich is sulfur, once garlic is ingested it will cleanse the blood and then be excreted through the pores of the skin where sulfur compounds are mildly noxious to parasites. Garlic is also ideal for respiratory disorders due to it's expectorant qualities and is one of the best herbs to prevent and fight infections. Packaging: 1 pound resealable/ reusable containers Price:$ call or email. It's benefits are many which include stimulating the body to overcome stress, fatigue and weakness. Ginseng will influence endurance and stamina to improve athletic performances without affecting mental and emotional boundaries. Ginseng also enhances the immune system and will strengthen the adrenal and reproductive glands. Packaging: 1 pound resealable/ reusable containers Price:$ call or email. We are an innovative privately owned company with divisions in Canada, Mexico and the USA, dedicated to formulating beneficial wholesome feed supplements for equine applications. At a time where the word natural is suffering many misconceptions, we are formulating various dietary aids derived from the knowledge and expertise of holistic veterinarians, nutritionists, physiologists, herbologists and specialists of ortho-molecular medicine. Most of our formulated equine product blends contain enzymes, vitamins, chelated minerals( proteinates, polysaccharides, citrates. The fillers that we use in these formulas are not the usual inert fillers, but" nutrient dense" fermentation solubles of selected grains we manufacture in the USA. We believe people should consult their veterinarians whenever their animals show abnormal symptoms. However, patients that have failed to respond to well validated orthodox treatments should be considered for appropriate safe nutritional interventions. We offer veterinary professionals, and all our clients, the choice of specific dietary compliments and logical alternatives to animals normal rations, whenever the need to" stabilize" various physiological functions occurs. Since health, per se, does not correspond to mere absence of symptoms, we strongly believe that progressive, rational dietary supplementation can be instrumental in influencing and promoting maintenance of a state of animal well-being.
